This activity is excellent for students who have trouble controlling their impulses. For instance, I have worked with a few individuals who believe that the behavior of others is in their control. They then act out in class, because they are constantly worrying about what others are doing. This is a great tool to help them realize what is in their control and what is not. In addition, they can brainstorm appropriate behaviors and coping skills for when things are out of their control.
The shaded truth activity, adapted from http://autism.lovetoknow.com/Social_Skills_Activities_for_Kids_with_Autism is an activity typically used for students with autism. At times, children with autism have trouble understanding when it is appropriate to speak their mind, and perhaps when it is not. This activity is interactive and it teaches the "shades of truth" and allows them to brainstorm other ways to communicate their feelings appropriately.
